Day 3

I successfully made it through another day!! They say the first three weeks is the hardest so I'm happy I made it another day. I'm trying to learn how to be happy with my accomplishments so that's why I'm happy every day that I succeed. It's another step in the right direction :) I haven't talked at all about fitness and I've done his intentionally for two reasons. First is that I have a herniated disc in my back so sometimes even walking is painful. Second I really want this to be about tackling my food addiction. Now I actually am a pretty active person and I enjoy and even crave a good workout sometimes. So, once my injury is healed and I'm able to exercise more I might talk about it abit but for now it's on the back burner. Tomorrow is a VERY busy day with lots of running around. Going to plan my food tonight so I don't get tempted.

Day 2

What can I say. I made it through another day :) Today was more difficult than yesterday. I think it's because the excitement of starting something new was gone. Today it was just me trying to battle a life long food addiction. The good news is I didn't give up!! It was hard but I made it through. I also can see that I'm already trying to hoard points for the evening cause that's when I like to snack but then it's leaving me hungry throughout the day. So I think I need to have a rule that I can't save more than 10 points. Otherwise I feel like a might slip up and I really don't want to do that.

On a brighter note, I had the most amazing lunch today!!



So I took a large dinner plate and just loaded it up with spinach, then I added about a 1/4 of a cucumber dice cut, 1 tomato sliced, and 1 red pepper sliced. Then I added 4 tbsp ( measured and leveled) of PC blue menu tzatki, and 30g (weighed) light feta and finished it off with 8 homemade pita chips ( slice pitas spray with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper and cayenne pepper if you like heat, and put in the oven at 400 degrees F for about 5-10 mins). 8 Points. Loved it!! So satisfying and I got most of my veggies in for the whole day.

Looking forward to tomorrow. Going to try and eat more throughout my day and not hoard points it's such a bad habit!!

Day 1!!



I have decided to start a blog that will follow me for a year while I do the new Weight Watchers Points Plus program. Today was my first time ever going to a Weight Watchers meeting although I have done it online in the past. So there are a few rules that I have to follow through out this 365 day challenge.

1. I must not go over my daily points value at any time, however I am free to use my 49 extra weekly points as I see fit.

2. I must drink 8 glasses of water per day

3. I must eat 5-10 servings of fruits and vegetables everyday

I am doing this blog to hold myself accountable to this program. Today is going to be start of a year long journey to health, fitness, and being comfortable in my own body. I can NEVER remember a time that I was comfortable in my own body!! I mean ever. Not even as a child. I want to change that legacy for my daughter though so I'm making a commitment to change how I feel about myself and to change the way that I treat my body. I am no longer going to eat because there is food in the house. I am going to eat because my body needs fuel. I am no longer going to look in the mirror and wish everything was different, I'm going to look in the mirror and be happy with ME!!

I will post to this blog daily with recipes, general thoughts about the Weight Watchers program and life's ups and downs. I will keep a running total of weight lost and money spent which I will update once a week.
